Catoosa has implemented an alarm permit for $35.00 for residential and $75.00 for commercial. This is for a few reasons 1.) Alarm calls have been monitored for the past 2 years and they have been a 95 to 98 percent false alarm calls. 2.) Catoosa Police have been constantly responding to the same businesses and homes for these false alarms.
This ties up 911 lines which causes our Officers to respond to false calls, where they could be responding to emergencies instead. This does not require anyone in town to purchase an alarm system; but if you do you must have an alarm permit for officers to respond. This will not prevent officers from responding to a 911 call if there is a witness who calls in during a break in.
